subject says most of it. I don't want to use my windows disk, as the people who shipped me my mac put windows and jaws and stuf on it. However, I want to be able to run my bootcamp partition through vmware fusion. Problem, when I do, the caps lock key does not work properly, and there are some obvious things I could probably figure out such as fixing the Jaws registration and video intercept issues. but why am I having so much trouble? why why why! Gur! someone help me. Post here, or Email, msn, or PM me. I need some help. Lol that sounded just a bit babyish. I'll stop now.
Ok. Let me try. I have crashed a perfectly great Windows install by trying to use the Boot Camp partition virtually. Stop trying to make that work. It's a losing battle.
Second thing. Once you build your virtual machine, you absolutely have to install the VM-ware tools within the Windows virtual machine in order to get video intercept working.
Thirdly, the capslock key will not work the way you want it to in the VM, because OSSX is still processing the actua keyboard input and virtualizing it. Thaqt means the host OS gets the capslock command before the guest OS. The work-around is to set Jaws to use the classic laptop keyboard layout, which doesn't use the capslock key at all. You will also want to grab Sharp Keys, and remap the right command to be an applications key, and I also remap the right option to be the insert key.
Hmm: thanks a lot! So, i guess it pays to be unlazy and look for my windows cd, eh? Thanks for the tips, and I'll have to find the sharp keys thing. Thanks!
Sharp Keys is relatively easy to find. Just do a Google search for it. The web site eludes me at the moment.
